Hello,

A friend has a Jaguar X-Type 3.0 4WD 2003, engine type WB.
No problem to crank and start when cold, but almost everytime when the engine is hot it will not crank. No click from the solenoid.
If the car had some time to cool down, it just crank and start fine again.
My friend suspect the starter motor and my dad remove the starter just to check before ordering a new one.
When he has it on the bench it works everytime even when he heated it up with a heat gun. Runs everytime, and he did a test several times.

I think a shall visit him and try to read codes with my Autocom.
But did someone know if this is a common problem for this model, or where to start troubleshooting if there are no codes?

Thanks.

And what years does this cover?

Hello,

I have locked my keys (the only one) inside the boot of my Jaguar S-type R6 2001 series.
I have injected the 12V (13V) from a 100A battery from the front box in the bonnet, but no way to open the boot, as the alarm is on.
For example I can open the gas tank access hatch, but there is no way to release the boot with the interior button.
In fact when I open the doors the alarm is hitted. So I think I have to disable it before I can open the boot.
The question is how do I disable the alarm?
Or how do I access the boot from the rear seat of the car?
Or how do I unlock the drivers doors without the key?

Please help, I am blocked in the bush.

Hi Folks.
Wondered if any of you good guy's out there have come across this?
Jaguar XF 2010 3.0D P0401 EGR system insufficient Flow detected.

This is a V6 with 2 EGR valves.
My initial live data 'anomaly' look has found @idle the
MAF bank 1 @10Kg/Hr
MAF bank 2 @100Kg/Hr these are approx, but you get the idea
Identical MAF sensors......when swapped, readings are approx the same.
When rev'd the bank 1 is reading approx 6-10% of bank 2.
Having no experience of this engine or the 2.7V6 JLR/PUG unit... i am open to thoughts of whats going wrong here?

HOW do you diagnose which EGR is in trouble?
Does the system use Map sensor also to 'detect' low EGR flow?
Everything looks a pig to work on on these!

Also... the air filter looks original! Blocked solid with crud @55K, took the oil cap off and full of black sludge! Criminal Neglect of a nice machine!

Where/how can I get the required code and does the "seed" change when the ignition is cycled?

Jaguar S Type 2.5 Petrol 2002 SAJAC01N02JM50896

Car went into garage for replacement engine.

Afterwards customer complaining of yellow warning light to the left of the multifunction display on the instruments and message saying cruise control not available and airbag light on.

If I start the car, for approx. 30 secs there is no warning, then it comes up. Restarting the car, the message comes back immediately until the car is locked/unlocked. If I press the 4 cruise control buttons on the wheel there is no effect, and the horn seems to only intermittently work.

I had no luck connecting using SDD / VCM I, but I managed to connect to all control units except Steering Column Lock Module using Delphi.

No fault codes in Engine apart from P1000, we took on a test drive, everything cleared except for comprehensive system test and lambdas.

Only fault code in Airbag was B2293 which Delphi claimed is a Curtain Airbag, but looking online it may also be Driver's Airbag or a Crash Sensor.

My suspicion is that the airbag fault is due to Driver's Airbag and these faults are all due to a bad clock spring. Unfortunately radio code is not available so radio functions cannot be tested. I was wondering if anyone may have a circuit diagram for this please?

I know the garage that did the rear pads and they haven't any diag tools to release handbrake could they have damaged something?
The bottom code doesn't code and if l read codes in abs that codes not there?
