I had 2 of these this last week so I thought I would share. MK3 V40 with comms faults, SRS light on, possible immobilizer fault and other various faults can be caused by the connector circled in red on the picture below. It is gray, behind the throttle pedal, 2 row connector, about 20+ pins mostly unpopulated. Unplug and reconnect solved the issues on both my cars. I cleaned them with contact cleaner, no visible corrosion on either connector. The problem looks very similar to a faulty CEM on earlier S40, V50, etc. but this car has a different CEM than the earlier cars. Hope this helps someone.

Related tip, same car. The rear door modules can fail due to water ingress causing corrosion in module. This can lead to the door being deadlocked. Pop out the window switch and it is possible to unplug the door module, pull the wire out through the hole and connect another door module so you can unlock the door.]]>

3. Select "Run" VIDASetup.exe in order to download and install VIDASetup.exe Follow the instructions on the screen in order to complete the installation.
4. Select the shortcut for VIDA 2015 that becomes available on the desktop after above installation is finished.
5. Select "Install" when a window is shown with the option Install.
The installation of the VIDA Application will now start.
The login window to VIDA will be shown when the installation is finished.
6. Select "Registration Guide for Subscription" at the VIDA login screen.
A guide how to register the computer is opened in a separate window.
Follow the guide in order to complete the registration.
The guide consists of three steps:
- User ID authentication
- Linking to a subscription
- Reviewing and confirming the registration.
7. The computer now needs to be approved in VIDA Admin before it will be possible to login to VIDA.
The approval needs to be carried out by the "VIDA Administrator"
The computer is approved in VIDA Admin under the tab "DEVICE"

The problems are caused by the Microsoft add-ons that VIDA needs to run. Run the Cleanup Utility because there is a chance your install is corrupt and can't be uninstalled normally from control panel.

- Remove all Net Frameworks (all versions)
Remove .Net entirely. Use Control Panel > add/remove programs.

- Install Net Framework v2

- Install Microsoft SQL Server Express 2005.
