This document is a very good and detailed explanation about the differences we all need to understand about the network connections on heavy equipment. This document was "lifted" from a person that is very well known in the industry and well respected.

VW Crafter 2012 Rattle Noise In Cab

Hi fellow AP members.

I own a 2012 VW Crafter, has been a joy to own from new for 2yrs but recently I started experiencing a rattle noise in the cab at speeds of 55mph above. This noise was not mechanical and I thought a piece of interior was loose but the odd thing was this rattle would not occur at low speed or over bumpy roads like if something was loose.

The noise was happening on the left side of the cab area, I proceeded to remove the dash and door trim and it still persisted. .

I then viewed areas in the engine bay and also removed the air blower motor thinking that something had fallen in air ducts and it still happened. .

I then removed the wheel liner, to view if something between left wing and chassis was causing noise plus removed the left mirror and still no fix. .

I viewed TSB's / TPI's and didn't find anything which matched symptoms but only loose trim highlighted was windscreen trim, I thought that can't be it but it was!

So to save anyone time I thought I'd post a thread as many of my searches on the net never revealed any results!

In TPI/TSB they do not highlight the symptom as a rattle at high speeds coming from the interior. Even when this trim comes loose on the verticals it still lies quite flat to screen as the horizontal elements are moulded with it and keep it flatter to windscreen. You will only notice its loose when you pull it and I believe it then slaps against the windscreen at higher speeds causing the noise I experienced.

As the Crafter is built by Mercedes for VW I believe Sprinter vans may also have similar build issue.
I have a temperature problem om Mitsubishi Fuso truck with common rail diesel engine. When driving truck the the temperature shows normal at normal speed at 50km/h. After a while the temperature goes to the high position on the gauge but engine is not shutting down. Check with MUT 3 temperature shows normal [83 degrees] change all temperature sensors and units, check all wiring's everything is fine. What's the last option that i can do? Maybe change the radiator?

Hello Forum members.
I would like to make a few mods to a f350 by removing the EGR & cooler. In the USA we have a program called efi live which allows a few mods.
I was wonder if anyone knew of a program that would "chip" remove the regen process? Like I said there is EFI live but it is mostly for chevrolet.
How are you guys eliminating the regen after you have removed the egr & cooler? thanks for any help in advance!!!
