The LCM (Light control module, MID216) is not allowing the vehicle to start because of this.

I have purchased an old VCADS 9998555 tester to adjust the VINs.

Now on VCADS 2.35 the ECU's with the different VIN show up in Parameter Programming but the VINs are of course locked and there doesn't seem to be any Developer Tools for this version to unlock them.

On VCADS 2.40 the ECU's with the different VIN do not show up at all in Parameter Programming so the Developer tools are useless.

Is there a way to work around this?



I have just been thinking, could this have to do with the OBD to Volvo 8-pin adapter?

Has the pin layout of the adapter changed from VCADS 2.35 to 2.40?

The engine is giving black smoke in the following situation :

We have done the following:

• Made a revision for the diesel injectors
• Made a revision for the diesel pump
• Opened and tested the turbo
• Changed all the filters (fuel and air)
• Checked for faults but none were present
  

Our truck mechanic has become desperate.
