Hi all,

I'm a brand new user of this forum.

I'd like to get some explanation about Tech2 and Tech2win. Could you please correct
or elaborate on my current understanding of Tech2 & Tech2win and its relationship with
other software?

Tech2:

- is a dedicated hardware for all GM brands to update vehicle firmware or get
information on the embedded systems in the car?
- is based on Motorola 68000 series?
- reads its software from an PCMCIA card (32 MB), one for each brand (and Saab no exception)
- Tech2 cards only contains data parameters or also the program itself?
- uses a dedicated hardware plug to connect on the OBD2 plug?

Tech2win

- is an emulation on Windows for Tech2
- what is TIS?
- and what is the relationship with Tech2win?
- are the .BIN files used by Tech2win the same ones used with Tech2?
- needs a costly licence from GM (emulator.lic file?)
- what means the command line parameters from Tech2win?
- which interfaces is using Tech2win?
- what makes Saab BIN files not usable on Tech2win?

Sorry for my long post, but hope someone will help me to clarify!

I now bring globaltis opel 32.0b in use.
seems possible that driving is done on that program or am I wrong?
whether that device have a blank card or succeeds in driving the finished card?

Hello guys

Looking for people's opinion on buying a GM MDI or Bosch Mastertech VCI. I know they are the same and made by Bosch but do they function in exactly the same way. I basically need to upgrade my Tech2 but like the idea of having the facility to run Bosch software as well. Does the Bosch Version need to be licensed in order to use for GlobalTIS ect?
Can also work the other way, owning a Blue MDI and using it for Bosch? Like I say it is GM I am mainly interested in.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Hi guys,

I'm after peoples thoughts on what is the best tool to use to read the 4 digit security codes on Vauxhall/Opel cars. This is via the obd socket though. Ive looked at the Arbrites AVDI tool but as I have a Genuine MDI and Tech 2 i don't fancy paying all the money just to read the code.

Has anyone tried the Clone of this the "4 in 1 Commander". I would only need it to read the security code I'm not bothered about its other features.

Any help or reviews of tools would be great!!

Hello I bought a ebay op_com (last version) for my zafira.
My first try it was a success everything worked in perfection.
Second try 2 days after, the op_com tool simply burnt when I turn the key or before that I'm not sure.
I have done the same thing I have done for the first time connect the tool to the car the usb cable to the computer and power on the car.
It was one thing different it was the first time I use the computer just with the battery and in this second time first I connect a car charger to the computer, but I thing it wasn't the problem, (I'm not so sure anymore).
Anyone had the same problem or know what may have passed?
I forgot to mention when this happened with the car key on second position all dashboard lights turn off I had to remove the key and turn it again and everything as back to normal.
The seller is going to send me another op_com and if it was my fault I don't want to burn it again.

Thanks
