After releasing VCMM, now rotunda surprises the diagnostic world by releasing the all new VCM 3 device, looks like VCM II is going down next year.

Ford Diagnostic Software.
The IDS and FDRS software is the only software that provides complete diagnostic coverage, including module programming and key programming of 1996 to current and future Ford and Lincoln vehicles. The IDS/FDRS will operate on PC platforms meeting the minimum specifications and having a valid software license subscription. IDS/FDRS software license subscriptions are available online at the PTS, Ford Fleet, or Motorcraft service website.

Vehicle Communication Module 3 (VCM 3).
The VCM 3 communicates with Ford and Lincoln vehicles via the 16-pin diagnostic link. This device is the core of vehicle diagnostics. An IDS software license subscription (sold separately) provides access to the software which uses the VCM 3 hardware to perform vehicle diagnostics.

Kit includes:
VCM 3
DLC cable
Heavy duty USB cable
Wireless adapter

The VCM 3 will operate as a Customer Flight Recorder (CFR) with an optional pendant cable 164-R9806 to replace the functionality of the Vehicle Data Recorder (VDR).
Includes enhanced 802.11n wireless that minimizes dependencies on service department wireless infrastructure.
Wireless functionality preferred for all IDS functions including module reprogramming. USB wired connections are only required to update the VCM 3 loaded code firmware and to set up the VCM3 to function as a Customer Flight Recorder (CFR).

Ford FORScan Lite With Android ELM

Please note, I do not sell these tools, not the author but I am an avid user of Forscan for PC and Android.
Proof of concept today was a:
2014 Ford F-150 - 3.5L Turbo DI (Petrol) with Automatic 4X4

The FORScan Lite application was developed specially for controller and network diagnostics for Ford, Mazda, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles.
Requirements are:
- ELM327 or compatible OBDII adapter with Bluetooth or WiFi interface.
- Vehicles other than Ford, Mazda, Lincoln and Mercury are not supported
- Application may not work with some ELM327 clones of poor quality.
To make sure there are no compatibility problems, use the free demo version.

Recommended adapter: OBDLink MX but I use a high quality ELM with the HI-LO network switch v1.4

Features:
- Analyzing an on-board network configuration of the connected vehicle
- Read and reset diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) for all modules
- Read sensors and other data (PIDs) from all modules

Get it at Google play store and pay a small fee for a very good diagnostic tool. Added is the vehicle mentioned with screen images during diagnosis.
For a fast, portable Ford/Mazda/Lincoln/Mercury on an Android version, it is worth it to me. The choice is yours.
Anyone here still remember NGS+ T-shaped scan tool?
I have 2 genuine VCM modules and I'd like to use one module as NGS+.
I tried to change the firmware for the NGS+ but it's failed every time. I used a clean install Win XP with DBS34 software.
I hope someone can chime in this topic.

Hi Fellow AP's.

Need some help here, trying to find proper tool to read Ford 1.8 TDDi 75hp from 2001 Delphi ECU.
I have tried with FGTech without success as it starts reading but stalls at 20% and gives error.
Some say FGTech V54 can read and write, but not mine as it is a clone BTW, (not sure if that is the reason).

If any could give me some advice on if FGTech is or not able to do this ECU as I know that Kess V2 can, but was wondering if FGTech can also.

Attached are ECU ID in .txt and FGTech Printscreen in docx.

ELM327 Modifying For Forscan / Elmconfig

Here I will show you how to add MS CAN to a standard ELM327.
This is done by removing the HS CAN wires and fitting a switch so that the ELM327 can be switched between HS and MS CAN.

This mod was originally devised to work with Russian software such as FF2 and Elmconfig but can now be used with Forscan making it possible to retrieve fault codes from modules that a standard ELM327 cannot reach.

For this mod you will need a USB ELM327, a double pole double throw switch and 4 short lengths of hook-up wire.

For this guide I have used a cheap clone ELM327 such as those sold on fleabay etc.

For those not familiar with Elmconfig, the software allows car configuration data to be changed and is similar to VAGCOM. The software currently supports the Mk2 Focus and the Mk4 Mondeo platforms.
Some of the features of Elmconfig require a baud rate of 500k. Unfortunately a lot of Chinese ELM327's have problems with this speed due to using a cloned USB to UART chip so don't be tempted to buy the cheapest!
For those not too handy with a soldering iron, pre-modified ELM327's can be found on fleabay.

I have a china focom clone that i tried with the latest software not the software supplied with it.
Now it says no interface connected when i try it with the software that came with it (it did work before).
Is it know that the later software can zap the interface? If so is their a reflash method to restore it?
I have tried to read the ic chip using mp lab but it cannot find any firmware on the chip.
