Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing fine.

So... Let me pick up your brains for a moment now. I have a situation here with a '08 451 MHD that I can't seem to find a way to solve.
Most of the times, the car won't start. It will try to, but it will seem like there's no fuel/spark and it won't start. Now and then, it will work perfectly at first crank.

As of now, the fuel pump (full pack) was changed, different ECU was tried (same numbers, after cloning the original one), another SAM was also tried
(ipsis verbis), both engine sensors were changed (camshaft and crankshaft). Also checked the wiring to the fuel pump, everything seems fine.

What now, any idea? I'm up to (almost) everything. Please let me know your thoughts.

Thank you in advance!
Cheers.

Hi guys!

I have a situation here and need some help.
2002 Smart ForTwo Cabrio, 599cc. While driving, ABS, Trust and the handbrake light up and the gear change doesn't work properly, and doesn't engage reverse at all. Not always, not in any particular situation, not hot or cold. Just randomly! Sometimes they go out on their own while driving, sometimes only after turn it off and start it again.

Got the following errors:

- 3D: Both rear rpm sensors
- 3E: Both front rpm sensors
- 0D: No CAN message from control unit N47/7 (ABS control module)
- 4C: 'Rough road detection' signal (by comparing wheel speeds)

Tested all four RPM sensors with DAS, all work properly. ABS reluctor rings have no visible damage. Cleaned both the ABS module and ECU connectors.
Any idea?
Thank you in advance!

Cheers.

Hello AP,
I would appreciate some help if possible. I have the car detailed below, came in for several electrical issues including cutting out and single line on dash, fuel and temp gauges flashing (CAN fault). Colleagues sent SAM away for test/repair, they said no issue with it but fixed a few common areas (I do not know what). Refitted, no erratic behavior but CAN fault remains, permanent non start.
I looked at car and found fault with CAN in engine ECU.

Second hand virginised ECU located, exact same part no, HW no, FD no.
Swapped 24c02 but fault remained (I believe part of immo in flash also).
Swapped back and put 'new' virginised ECU on car, now we have key symbol.
My Star Diagnosis is away being updated so borrowed friend's old one and coded in key.
Tried to do initial startup of engine ECU but wanted to do SCN coding so cancelled.
Now have N displayed but no crank. Live data shows that immo etc all OK for start.
Crank signal going into SAM but not coming out to starter. Took SAM apart and tested relay and power track OK.
Power supplied to starter cranks but no start, crank signal present. Spark but no injector signal. Fuel pump runs if I power starter.
No codes in engine ECU. One code in SAM for comms with cluster.

Am I looking at an issue due to SCN coding?
Does it matter that I didn't write VIN to virginised ECU?

It is strange that I have no apparent immo fault, no crank or injectors but crank signal and spark are there.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi there! Hope you're all doing fine.

I have a situation with a Smart ForTwo (450) here, and I need your help.

Everytime I turn the key on, both the fuel symbol (with an electric pin on the end), the temperature and one line on the display blinks. Unstoppable.
Everything works, the car drives with no problems, but I can't figure out what's causing it. Here it is:

It was ok just until the battery died (interior light on). Someone connected the power cables to another car, put it to work, and that's all.
It's blinking since then.
Any idea? Thank you in advance!

Cheers.

I am trying to program a control unit offline (EDG from smart forfour cdi) with DAS and it seems that the ECU has already been programmed with the latest version. Is there a way to write the same software again?
I get the following "error": No newer software found.
I am asking in the MB subforum because I remember I had the same problem a while back with a CLK engine control unit.

Hello there! Hope y'all doing fine.

I'm having some troubles and decided to ask your help...

So, I have a '03 Smart ForTwo Cabrio in which I'm supposed to fix the roof.
It is working, just not perfectly, due to the fact that the cables slip during it's function. Until here, all good...
Already have the repair kit from Mercedes in hand. Now getting to the 'good part'...

I borrowed an Mercedes tool from a friend which is supposed to help with this work. I've been staring at it for a while, but already found out how it's supposed to work, almost everything. It is already applied on the car, in place, except two parts which I can't seem to get where they belong. I know how I'm supposed to roll without this tool, but I'd really rather take advantage of it, since I have it with me.

The tool reference is 0011791V001000000. Can someone with a good working WIS/ASRA, to send me any instructions on how it is supposed to work? I'd really appreciate!
Thank y'all in advance.
I can't get any comms with a 450 0.7l (built 2002/2003) engine ECU with X431 Diagun or Autocom/Delphi 2013.1. Other modules ok, but not ECU.
Is this normal and you need the Mercedes gear only for these toy cars or does this car have a problem?

All help appreciated.
