I need some professional help from you.<br />
Small dealer towed in Saab 9-3 2008 without the keys, steering is locked. I don't have Tech2 but have GM MDI and downloading now Saab GlobalTIS.<br />
My question is: GlobalTIS & used key will fix the problem & be able to program or I need Tech2 & new key?<br />
Since steering is locked I'm not able to remove CIM.<br />
Any suggestion welcome. Local locksmith asking too much money for it and asking to remove CIM first.<br />

He get a check engine light, and we found code P0340.<br />
We deleted the code and the car runs fine.<br />
But is it a Cam position sensor on these engines? Is it ION sensing?<br />
The Direct ignition unit was replace by a previous owner some time ago.<br />
<br />
Some idea of what have caused it? It is cold up here these days.<br />

			<description><![CDATA[Hi guys I have a Saab 9-5 2.2 TID 2004. The car has no ignition and displays "Key not recognized - contact service". The remote has also stopped working. I have done a few in the past where the key has been faulty and repaired them but this car is weird.<br />

Basically as soon as you open the door it displays this message "Key not recognized - contact service" then when I put the key in the ignition the sign goes away and I get nothing at all display is dead no ignition and the key wont turn either totally dead. <br />
<br />
I have checked the key and remote they are both working properly the car battery is 100% and I have checked all the fuses under the bonnet and inside the car. There was one fuse blown inside which I have replaced but still the same problem. I have left the battery off for 20 mins too. I did a scan with launch and no major fault codes but no comms with ECU's, UEC, CIM etc are all ok. <br />
<br />
What do you suggest guys and anyone come across this one before?<br />

The customer said this problem occurred after he replaced the battery. Because of this there is no way to scan the car.<br />
On a DIM there is a message as shown in the attachment.<br />
Steering wheel its not locked, I can turn it.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[I have a Saab in my shop and I can't turn the ignition key.<br />
The customer said this problem occurred after he replaced the battery. Because of this there is no way to scan the car.<br />
On a DIM there is a message as shown in the attachment.<br />
Steering wheel its not locked, I can turn it.<br />

			<description><![CDATA[I have a new ecm to replace for a friend, i have passthru device, with my knowledge on gm cars, performing sps on new ecm means gonna load new calibration files into the ecm, now after that perform theft deterrent learn or immo function. <br />

I want to know what is the procedure for Saab, do they have a website that you need to access to perform sps and also do the theft learn or immo function... please kindly help me with advise...<br />

Last but the least i dont know if used ecu would work on another car, my friend suggest to get used ecm but i told him i am afraid but with gm cars it is possible but that on Saab i dont know if they re locked to donor car, so please explain on this article too.<br />

I have a 9-3 2.0T after RH to LH drive conversion with broken Trionic8 ecu... I have a secondhand ecu with matching CIM and Keyfob, but car says "steering lock malfunction" is it possible to match secondhand ecu by cim 93LC66A dump? or only with Tech2? Original cim dump + secondhand cim dump attached...<br />
